Glass Cladding – Hygienic, Modern and Virtually Maintenance-Free

Glass wall cladding is the modern, hygienic solution for kitchens, bathrooms, commercial spaces and offices. At Oglinda Venetiana, we supply lacquered glass panels in float or ultra-clear glass, painted on the reverse in any shade from the RAL colour palette (over 200 colours).

The glass is thermally toughened after painting, making it resistant to heat (ideal next to hobs and ovens), mechanical shock and temperature fluctuations. The non-porous surface does not absorb grease, odours or bacteria, making it extremely hygienic and effortless to clean.

We offer two glass types: standard float glass (with a slight green tint) and ultra-clear (low-iron) glass which renders colours with perfect fidelity and no chromatic distortion. Ultra-clear glass is strongly recommended for whites and pale pastel shades.

Glass cladding is ideal as a kitchen splashback, bathroom wall panel, decorative feature wall in a living room, office accent wall, or design element in commercial settings such as restaurants, hotels and showrooms.

Frequently Asked Questions about Glass Wall Cladding

What is the difference between float glass and ultra-clear glass?

Standard float glass has a slight green tint due to its iron oxide content — noticeable on lighter colours. Ultra-clear (low-iron) glass has a minimal iron content, giving perfect colour fidelity and true transparency. We strongly recommend ultra-clear glass for white and light pastel shades.

Can glass cladding be fitted next to a hob or oven?

Yes. Our thermally toughened lacquered glass withstands temperatures up to 250 °C, making it perfect for kitchen splashbacks directly behind the hob. Toughening ensures resistance to thermal shock and sudden temperature changes.

How do I clean glass wall panels?

Glass cladding is very easy to clean with a mild detergent and a soft cloth or squeegee. The non-porous surface does not retain grease or dirt. Avoid abrasive products that could scratch the painted surface.

What glass thickness is recommended for wall cladding?

4 mm is suitable for small and medium surfaces. 6 mm is recommended for larger panels. 8–10 mm is used for specialist applications such as worktops and table tops.

Can you produce large panels with no visible joints?

Yes. We can manufacture panels up to approximately 250×350 cm in a single piece, eliminating visible joints. For larger surfaces, joins are made with a minimal 2–3 mm gap — virtually invisible.
